An underground pet fencing system, known as a hidden fence, utilizes a radio signal to establish a designated containment area for your dog, like a yard. It can also be used to keep your pet away from specific areas such as a swimming pool, patio, or garden. Moreover, hidden fences can create indoor boundaries within your home, preventing your pet from accessing certain areas like a couch, room, or kitchen counter.

Hidden fences are created by burying a 'boundary wire' a few inches underground around your property. This wire carries a harmless, low-level radio signal from a transmitter installed in your house or garage. Your pet wears a lightweight, waterproof receiver collar that detects the radio signal. When your pet approaches the buried wire, the receiver collar emits a warning signal (audible or vibration). If your pet continues to move forward, they will receive a mild but safe stimulation (also known as a "correction") from the collar. Through a training program, your pet learns to recognize the fence boundaries and to stop at the warning signal. Although there may be differences in product features, this is the basic functionality of all hidden fences (such as DogWatch®, Invisible Fence®, and other radio fence brands).

Our indoor system allows the hidden wire to seamlessly navigate around furniture, counters, trash cans, doorways, or any area you want to designate as a containment or "off-limits" zone. Training plays a crucial role in the process. Once the hidden fence is installed, we collaborate with you to train your pet. The training involves teaching your pet to recognize the boundaries of the containment area using voice commands, audible warning signals from the receiver collar, and visual flags placed in the yard. These flags serve as a warning alert for your pet. As your pet learns, the flags are gradually removed. Your pet also learns that if they continue past the flags and warning alert, they will receive a gentle correction from the collar. After training, most dogs refrain from crossing the hidden boundary, stopping before the warning signal to avoid correction.

We will start the training process and offer guidance and assistance to help you successfully complete and reinforce the training. Following the initial training, your dog will engage in daily training sessions with you for a few minutes over a period of approximately two weeks. We will create a customized plan to address the specific training requirements of your pet(s).

No. The stimulation from the collar is unpleasant, but it will not burn or injure your pet. It is a sensation similar to a static shock. It is uncomfortable, but it does not harm you.
